Allspice, Sarvasugandhi

The Allspice tree is a tropical evergreen famous for its aromatic leaves and berries. It is called "Allspice" because the flavor profile of its dried berries and fresh leaves resembles a combination of cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. In regional cuisines like those of Kerala, the fresh green leaves are frequently used to provide a rich, spicy aroma to Biryani and meat curries.
